Katarina Avalos holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. She has presented at numerous conferences and has published research in forensic psychology. Her most recent work titled, “Does Defendant Race and Mental Illness Diagnosis Contribute to Juror Bias? An Aversive Bias Explanation.”
In addition to working with adults, couples and families with substance use disorders and comorbidities, Katarina also has extensive experience working with children and adolescents. She primarily utilizes Behavioral, Cognitive, and Humanistic approaches to therapy. However, her therapy overall is driven by an eclectic approach, to ensure each client is receiving a treatment plan that is unique to their background and personal needs. When Katarina is not working, she spends a lot of time traveling and enjoying outdoor activities.
